So, I guess it's time to get the ball rolling, the party started, the pot boiling, the...blog...working....
Spent the first week "Starting Right" for the blog by introducing things and reviewing some smarty-pants research thoughts on how to move forward with selecting the monthly themes and goals. Now in week two I'm going to try actually doing them. Which is kind of where the rubber meets the road, the push comes to the shove, the blog...starts...to...be...the blog.
Or whatever.
I may be getting a bit over-zealous here by choosing multiple goals within each of my frequency-categories (daily, weekly, monthly), but here we go:
The theme I chose this month is: Starting Right
Why? Because we just moved continents and first impressions are important. Also, whenever there's a big life change, it's always a good time to try and begin a good habit. So, taking that into consideration, here we go...
Daily Goals
- Make the bed in the morning! (So easy...so, so easy)
- Feed Hadrian his first meal at the same time every day. (So less easy...so, so less easy)
- Take calcium with breakfast.
All morning goals (and mornings are not my best time) so it's a bit risky, but they are small enough that I can be consistent with them and enjoy their benefits enough to make them new habits. Starting right every day.
Weekly Goals
- Begin a Professional Network by contacting (and maybe meeting with? if they are okay with it) one company or institute each week about their GIS work and future projects.
- Begin a social network by finding and going out with Hadrian to a group activity each week.
- Go as a family to explore a different area of Savannah once every week.
These seem pretty self-explanatory in their monthly theme connections - Starting Right in our new home.
Monthly Goals
- Lock-in one GIS volunteering opportunity for the future.
- Find and sign up for an online ArcGIS Python course to complete this fall. And if the Python course requires it, purchase and install ArcGIS onto my trusty laptop, Edith.
- Finish going through, sorting, and repacking all our worldly possessions we've gathered from the four corners of the earth this last month - using a modified KonMari method - and making sure boxes are packed and labeled well.
Starting right for future career opportunities here and in the home we hope to find and buy soon!
